tattoo artist employment..

does ANYONE know where i would find the classifieds for this??? i was using tattoospa.com but it has been down for a long ass time :( and no one else has actual listings for shops needing artists :( how frustrating!

anyway, orlando is looking better and better, and, quite frankly, my main reasons for this being a) it’s central to family and friends (well, friends in jacksonville lol) b) it’s way transient, lots of business (or so i am thinking) for a tattoo artist/piercer c) hey, we are already where we go on vacation! d) there seems to be some cool people there *smiles*

oh, and housing is fairly inexpensive, so we could find a house in our price range that isn’t falling apart. whoohooo!!!

are all the young moms in south florida who aren’t mainstream, preppy moms? you know, the ones with tattoos, and piercings, and weird hair colours or cuts, or ap moms, or or or……. ugh, i don’t even know.

i am so tired of having no money, no one in witch to do anything with even if i had money, not having my own house, not having my own space, lots of things.

but we all have issues. i just wish i didn’t have so many all at once, or had one friend to hang with, or just be able to change one thing. just one.

ok, this FUCKING RIP OFF OF AN INTERVIEW

was for some company called maleleuca, and other than them wanted 35$ THEN AND THERE to get some course kit or some shit….. well, as michael said, if it sounds too good to be true it prolly is? yah, anyway….

however, that shop we went to, Sunrise Tattoo, was awesome. i wasn’t thrilled with the gray flooring, but it was swept. the owner was awesome, and so were the people who worked there. he was up front about it being slow season, but said he liked michael’s work and would love to have him, and that he could come in on a non-committed basis and just kinda check things out. (is anyone else hearing check-check-check-check-this-this-this-this-out-out-out-out……..no? guess it’s just me then *smiles*) they weren’t “right on the beach” but basically to get from 95 to the beach, you HAVE to pass them, and you can’t miss them (unless you are me).

so for the time being, it shouldn’t be a waste of time. but michael wont stop looking for something else either, ya know? the owner outright said, this is the slow time, it’ll pick up around mid-summer, then down, then up around holiday season…… it’s how it is anywhere tho. but it is also only a half hour from there to the house, not 1.5 hours, and no where near the gas needed to get there/home :-)

ok, have to go get dressed, appt today :-)

so i was out at the consignment shop today…….

wearing this neat-o dress i got, NOT a maternity dress, btw (i’ll post a photo in a bit, need to take one), and some guy in red plaid bondage pants spotted my back from across the parking lot, and came over to ask who did it. so of course, we said michael. anyway, long story short, he works at a place called sunrise tattoo on the beach, and there is an opening, so we are going to stop in tonight on the way home from another interview we have down in miami (yep, i have one too.) for some work at home web design something or another.

so anyway, back to the shop. i point blank asked him what business was like, and he said it was good, they are right on the beach. they are also open till like 1 am, but hopefully they either open later in the day, or break it up into shifts. and it’d be AWESOME for michael to get into, even if it is temp. until he finds something else, b/c we NEED some cash, and sunrise is way way closer than west palm is, so not so much in gas, so it might equal out well. and if they are as busy as this kid made it sound, it may well be worth him staying there for a bit.

so cross them thar fingers!

tattoo goo and other things…….

*sigh* Michael didn’t get much work yesterday or today…. he even cast the “summon customers spell” (which is nothing more than setting up to work on yourself, and if someone hasn’t come in yet, doing a line or two, someone *always* does) but it didn’t work.

watch, Friday when I go with him, there will be a non-stop torrent of people in. Not that that is bad, but damnit, I want to get worked on!

He got this sample of “ink fixx” a couple days ago. I prefer tattoo goo because it smells sooooo good, but I prefer this ink fixx because it is in an easy screw-top jar. Except it’s plastic. The tattoo goo is in a metal tin. but I have a problem getting it open. so I decided to make my own, and if it works, I am gonna mass produce it and sell it. wish me luck!
