Plug

I just ordered RAM from MemorySuppliers.com for my brothers machine and my PowerBook. They said they would give me 15$ back if I plugged them and sent them the link. So I am. I have no shame.

However, they do offer this fabulous memory finder for people like me who have absolutely no clue what kind of RAM to get unless they are mathcing it to what they already have. I am not computer stupid, but since we moved out of having one kind, I have been lost. My brothers computer is a couple of years old and it was almost impossible to find RAM for it. MemorySuppliers.com had it. Apple no longer carries RAM for my PowerBook (of they were out of it, but I’d bet on the former and not the latter) seeing as it’s coming up on four years old.

They also offer a 60 day money back guarantee, 110% guaranteed low price, free shipping both ways *and* “Installing memory is easy – follow our simple illustrated installation instructions or call our toll-free support and our experts will patiently guide you to a successful upgrade.”

I can install my own damn RAM, but it’s nice to know that if I can’t figure out how to slide my battery out, pop the cover off and slide the new RAM in, someone can talk me through it.

My RAM should show up later this week. I don’t anticipate any problems. I mean, it’s RAM. But, if there is a problem, I can exchange it. Sounds like a good deal to me.

The Holocaust memoir so heartwarming it had to be fake | Salon Books

The Holocaust memoir so heartwarming it had to be fake | Salon Books.

Jan. 7, 2009 | Novelist and editor William Dean Howells famously told Edith Wharton that the problem with American audiences was that they always wanted “a tragedy with a happy ending.”

That longing explains what led to the recent controversy over Herman Rosenblat’s Holocaust memoir, “Angel at the Fence: The True Story of a Love That Survived,” now canceled by the publisher Berkley Books, though a film version may still be in the offing.

I know this story. I grew up hearing this story, I think… Sometimes memory does not serve, it dictates. I couldn’t tell you the first time I heard this story, but I know that I know it.

I think it’s a shame. People neeed something to cling to, who cares if it’s made up? Have you watched Jacob the Liar? So now we know, so publish it anyway, just not as truth.

I ordered a ton of Holocaust DVDs from NetFlix a little bit ago. From love stories to tales of Dr. Mengele, I watched them all. A little bit of romance is welcome in that onslaught of images.

You can do it if you wanna…

So when I was a little girl, we used to tell my sister, in this sing-songy voice, “You can do it if you wanna, all you have to do is try” and I just remembered today.

Why? Someone commented to me today “I think you’re one of the few people in the world who can do anything they want to do. ” and I have long said I can do anything I want to do if I try.

I wonder if telling Erin so many times that very thing is what made me convinced of the same?

Canon S3IS for sale

I want to upgrade my camera, mostly since I just bought a new P&S and having two seems silly to me now. I thought I’d use them both, but… not so much.

I looked on ebay and they are going for anything from 100$ to 240$. Amazon has it new for 320$ I am asking 200$, priority shipping included for the following:

Canon S3IS
AA-size battery (x4)
SD Memory Card SDC-16MB plus a 128 meg Lexar SD card
Lens Cap
Neck Strap NS-DC4
USB Interface Cable IFC-400PCU
Denali camera bag (currently holds my personal battery charger, plus the camera, plus the chord, plus room for extra batteries, cards, etc..
English instruction manual

I do not think I have the disk it came with, but the drivers can be downloaded from the canon site (linked below) but I’ve never needed anything that was on the included disk. If I find it, hey, added bonus :-) The camera is totally plug n play and as soon asyou plug it into your machine to transfer the images, your machines default program will open.

I love this camera. You guys have heard me tout how fabulous it is almost everytime a camera thread come sup, and frankly, I am probably going to have sellers remorse right up until I buy a brand spankin’ new DSLR. I spent about as much (new) on my new camera just last month as I did on the S3IS when I bought it, and judging by the auctions and sites I found selling the S3, 200$ is a steal. The camera is used, but has zero scratches or any other imperfections. It works beautifully, feels great in my hands and I actually was tempted to buy the S5 instead of the Panasonic I bought. Michael talked me out of it because well, I already had a Canon S-series lol

ask me no questions and i’ll tell you no lies

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don’t speak often) I would love for you to post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me.

It can be anything you want – good or bad – BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you’re finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON’T ACTUALLY remember about you.
