Updatey Goodness

Hi!

Where to start…  we went to Orlando this past weekend. Sorry local gals – we went up in one car and I knew I wouldn’t be able to get away so I didn’t even bother posting about it. I will be uploading pictures at some point, so expect a photo spam post.

We hit Animal Kingdom (something we almost never do), MGM (excuse me, Disney’s Hollywood Studios) & Magic Kingdom. We were up early enough to see them *open* on both Sunday & Monday. Not. In. Years. It was a real treat for the kids. We left around 2 PM on Monday and were home around 6PM (hit those rain storms headed up and back).

We’ll be back up in Sept or Oct, the boys want to stay at Wilderness Lodge – we’ll see. That will depend on if the work I am expecting comes through and a few other things as well. It’s their birthday trip, so I usually try to keep them in on the plans and such.

Tuesday morning we had M’s IEP. All is well. Again, we won’t know until the year starts if he gets his aid in the classroom for next year, but I hope so. Some goals were met, some are the same and we added some new ones. His speech went from being a profound delay at last years IEP to a mild, age appropriate delay. Whoo Fucking Hoo Mal! Our private speech gal is going to have her work cut out for her to keep him as a client, but I love her and she’s really awesome and I attribute most of his success to her. She said his /r/ sound really, really needs work ;)   I hope she can find a legitimate reason to keep him. He performs well in the speech room, but not as well outside. I think that alone means he should keep it up.

Tuesday night he was supposed to read a story he wrote at Barnes & Noble. I have video. It didn’t go well. He was all ready to read, went up there, and froze. Poor kid. I sat with him, and tried to convince him to read. No go.

Wednesday I got my hair done. My girl went in at 8AM for me! She is a peach. I was done by 10 and we went to Target (aka that vast time suck) and bought a box storage thing for outside for my new seat cushions, a couple of fans and some misc. other things we probably didn’t need at all. Wed afternoon is therapy with all the kids, where they act like animals and irritate the fuck out of me. Then we had dinner with my moms twin brother, his wife and their daughter. We almost never see them (they live in Reno) and my dad is still livid he didn’t bother to come out when mom was dying (and by the time he was going to come out he told him not to bother, there was no time and we’ll see you at the funeral in a few days. Fucker.). I told my Gram not to expect me to rearrange my entire day for family who doesn’t really want to see us again as I had to break a promise to Dorian to make dinner at a reasonable time.

Today I have been working, just dropped Fish off at work, and I am uploading pictures from, well, all of May. I’ll be making a few photo posts later on. It’s going to take all day to upload.

Our fence is complete! They will come out tomorrow or Monday to inspect it. It’s pouring now, so I can’t go enjoy it lol We’re having a party on Sunday, so just in time! I hope it doesn’t rain :( I think I “scheduled” it in between rain storms lol

Dor has his first sleepover weekend after next, so that’s exciting. We need to go get him some PJs and a gift to take with him.

And I think that’s everything!

Awful morning

So, Dorian was feeling ill last night, so I told him we’d see how he was in the morning. He was still feeling ill, so he did not go to school today.

Eshiva & Malachai had 9 AM appointments at the dentist. Eshiva was getting a crown, and Mal was getting a quick look-see.

Malachai was finally seen at 10:10AM and was done by 10:30ish. Remember, our appointments were for 9? Yah. Anyway, he more or less cooperated with getting a quick check out, nothing else. He has an appointment for March 5 at 8AM and he will be given a liberal dose of Benadryl (by the dentist) and wrapped up in a papoose and will have his front two teeth removed. I need to talk to our ST about this today.

At 11AM I demanded a new appointment and told them we were leaving. The receptionist assured me we were next, but she had been assuring me of that since 9AM. There was another lady who had been there since 8. My kids hadn’t eaten yet and Michael had to get to work – we left. Eshiva has a new appointment for next week. If she isn’t seen within fifteen minutes we’ll be getting yet another new appointment.

The dentist was awesome today with Malachai, and usually we only have a 15 – 20 minute wait. Two hours, and they still had no clue of when we’d be seen? Why bother making an appointment at all?

Mal got a tee for being so awesome at the dentist (seriously, I can’t even get him through the door to the back area, let alone in the chair) and I don’t know what I’m going to do on the fifth. Well, I do know. Michael is taking him. Don’t judge – I take the other two back. I just have a soft spot for Mal.

The dog pulled down our new (used) PS2. Thank goodness it still works – I refuse to buy another one. We just bought that one to replace the one he broke.

I realized last night that the reason my “TANSTAAFL” didn’t look right when we tried to do it last is that I wanted to put “GROK” in that spot. “TANSTAAFL” will have to find a home on the other wrist. Which kicks “Be Remarkable. Do The Impossible.” out, but that can go elsewhere too. I am a Heinlein whore. Absolutely.

Today has not been a great day, and I was yell-y this morning. I am feeling better now.

Dorian is finally going to a dentist!

I am sure you have all noticed in Dorian’s photos it looks like he has been eating blueberries or I don’t know, drinking battery acid.

Well, we had been needing to go in for that, because the asshole dentist we went to last year said unless he is in pain, they wont do anything about baby teeth anyway. Wrong, guess again.

So his first tooth fell out a while ago, and I started a search for a dentist who a) takes our insurance and b) sees children.

I finally called the ins this morning and they found one who would see him (everyone I phoned either said under 5 or over 10) so we have an appointment for next Monday. One of his lower baby teeth is loose, but not out, and the adult tooth is coming in very crooked and very behind it. We’re going to have that taken care of it (the tooth in question is loose but not loose enough to come out easily) and let them take a look-see at the rest of his mouth and maybe make an appointment. The next check up appt wasn’t available until the end of May, but because of that tooth they got him in. I was just going to make an appt for the end of May for him as well, however they told me over the phone to just see what the doc has to say and maybe we’ll be going again a little bit sooner.

Yay!! Dorian got his dads teeth, in other words, weak and crumbly, thank goodness we are getting it taken care of and thank goodness the other two kids got my strong horseteeth lol

25 March 2004

Did much laundry today. Still have much to do.

Downloaded more photoshop brushes than any one person needs, and I will have oodles of fun digging through them, discarding some, keeping others, and making pretties.

Changed my bed sheet for the third time in as many days yesterday. Guess what, I have to change it again. Much remember to STOP leaving drinks without lids where the boy can reach them, namely, the nightstand. Must also not let him have the leaky cup anymore.

Need to get the carpet cleaner from my mom. I want to clean the carpets before they get so bad they *must* be replaced. I first thought of this and mentioned it over 2 weeks ago. See how lazy we are?

Need to mop. Need to clean the floor first. It’s all sticky and nasty. I hate little kids. I can’t wait till they grow out of the sticky phase. When is that again? Oh yah, NEVER.

Haven’t had the a/c on in days. It’s been breezy enough outside to merit open windows. Thank goodness it is only drizzling, and our overhangs are big enough that the rain hasn’t come in. If it continues through the night, sadly, we will have to shut the windows and turn on the a/c.

My tongue is white and way swollen. Oddly enough, the white would come from over-sanitizing it, and I don’t really do anything to take care of a new piercing. I haven’t been rinsing with anything stronger than water. Go figure. I have been living on ibuprofen, unheard of for me. I don?t remember it hurting this much before, but that was years and years ago (seriously) and it wasn’t done with a 10g needle then either. It does make a difference. I’ve also been eating real food. Fish hates my aftercare lol I remember having 4 cart piercings done in one day. I had a second hole poked in my tragus (obviously before I had them punched) and my conch’s punched. I chickened out and did my conch’s at a 12g b/c I had never had it done. Shoulda gone bigger! I still haven’t had them opened up any larger, and it’s been about 5 years. Anyway, went back to his place that night, and he oh so gently cleaned my bloody ears. I got home and promptly forgot about any cleaning/care, and let the shower do it for me. They healed up just fine. Usually when I futz with new holes, they get pissy, so tried and true, leave it alone and it heals just fine. For me anyway. However, I am rethinking have my nipples redone once the boy weans. I had them done at a 10g once (the first time was a 14, stretched overtime to a 10, the second just jumped right into a 10) and it HURT. So not looking forward to that again.

Next week I am going to see if mom can watch the boys on Monday so we can work on my phoenix. Which of course means the Monday after Fish gets to do see Phil and have his leg worked on.

I’d kill for some actual naprosin right now. I have bottles and bottles of it, collected as prescribed for my wrists and foot, but I can’t find any of it. I think it’s at my moms house :(

19 November 2003

i lost 4 lbs!!! i am always 134, and i was about 130.5 on the scale at publix. yay!!!! just need to keep whatever it is up! lol

Ok, here is what I posted to BME on the subject

Fish is getting worked on next Monday, which means…….. it’s my turn next!!! So hopefully two Mondays from now I will be getting my phoenix coloured in. or at least started *laughs*

In other news, we went veggie again (ok, I went veggie again, and Fish went veggie) and I have thus far lost 4 lbs. I knew there was a reason I was on that diet. Maybe I will once again be down to my svelte goddess goodness that isn’t 135 pounds packed onto my little frame. I will be happy around 115 (I am currently 131 and 5 foot 1 on a good day. My boobs measure in at 34F (breastfeeding packed on a couple of extra cups, but I was a DD before that anyway) and my waist is 32 or 34 inches. My hips are around 40. Two pregnancies will do that to you.
