He was all giggly and ran around the house showing everyone his loose teeth. He is so cute I lurve him.

He wont let me touch them again, but he is so obviously proud of having loose teeth. Yay Mal!

Unfortunately, they are *not* the top teeth, which are the ones with the big as cavity right in the middle.

So, I got this email last week about how much the food would cost, but no real info as to how to pay, etc.. (it had an address to send a check to, but it also had some other options, anyway)

So I emailed Annie and asked what’s up and it turns out I was approved as a coordinator! Yay! I get my food for free! OK, I’m gonna bust my ass putting the boxes together and gathering payments, but in exchange for the work I get my box for free. I’m getting a list of names & numbers to call tomorrow/Monday so I can get my people to pay me so we can get our food on Thursday. I am happy! This will save me a little over 200$ a month in produce! http://www.anniesbuyingclub.com/

This weeks box is:

Eshiva had her second dance class this morning – she loves it. I am a little irritated I got taken for a full months tuition for two classes (it wasn’t prorated – I totally would have waited till March had I known) but she is so happy it’s worth it anyway.

After that we went to Bear Fair at the elementary school (it’s got a couple of bounce houses, “carny” games, raffles, etc..) and the kids went in a bounce house, had cotton candy, played some games. Malachai fell and we left (some jackass mom pointed out it was “only bleeding a little” seriously, what mom points out that it’s bleeding at all??) and headed for the Dollar Tree. Oh, my brother entered a raffle, and entered me in one as well, so maybe we’ll win something!

We spent 35 freaking dollars at the dollar store. How does that even happen? Well, my brother and sister spent just shy of ten, so that makes it a little better. I got some much needed erasers and glue sticks, and new shovels/pails for the beach and some other beachy stuff. Eshiva got some cheapish imitation Disney dollhouse furniture and sneaked a Mary figurine in (it’s doll house sized – I may just repaint it or something) and they all got more candy (because you know, we needed more candy, doesn’t everyone?) and got dad Fiddle Faddle. Oh, and peanuts for Fish. Notice who did not get anything? Yep. It’s ok. I am basking in my new [s]toy[/s] phone. That new will take a while to wear off, I think.

It’s hot as fuck, sadly, we’re expecting rain storms tomorrow. Hopefully not while we’re at the beach! After this weekend, I have park days planned. I planned out an entire summer of park days, in fact. A new one every Saturday – Tuesday in fact, the kids are in camp Wed – Fri.

Eshiva went this morning and had two crowns put on her front teeth. She is an angel at the dentist.

We spoke to the dentist about Malachai (again) and I explained to her that our speech pathologist (who can’t call her directly as she is a student, but she is amazing) said that simply removing the teeth would be detrimental to any progress he has made. I explained that he was 100% unintelligible and not having the two front teeth would send us right back to square one.

She explained our options, but it boiled down to the fact that since he will not tolerate having x-rays done, they just have no clue what to expect. She said they could go in, expecting to do crowns, but if the cavities are to the nerve, they have to pull. Because he already has crowns on all the molars they cannot cement a bridge in place and she is worried that using a temp bridge (one that comes out) would be more trouble than it’s worth (he could swallow it, it could get lodged in his throat, he could lose it…)

I said I hate to Benadryl him up just for x-rays, but if we do them and find out the cavity isn’t as bad as all that and they can do the crowns or just leave the teeth until they fall out on their own, I’ll do it. She sent us home with the x-ray tab to get him used to it being in his mouth, so maybe they can do the pictures without the Benadryl. I doubt it, but maybe!

Michael is taking him in next Thursday.

I just ordered RAM from MemorySuppliers.com for my brothers machine and my PowerBook. They said they would give me 15$ back if I plugged them and sent them the link. So I am. I have no shame.

However, they do offer this fabulous memory finder for people like me who have absolutely no clue what kind of RAM to get unless they are mathcing it to what they already have. I am not computer stupid, but since we moved out of having one kind, I have been lost. My brothers computer is a couple of years old and it was almost impossible to find RAM for it. MemorySuppliers.com had it. Apple no longer carries RAM for my PowerBook (of they were out of it, but I’d bet on the former and not the latter) seeing as it’s coming up on four years old.

They also offer a 60 day money back guarantee, 110% guaranteed low price, free shipping both ways *and* “Installing memory is easy – follow our simple illustrated installation instructions or call our toll-free support and our experts will patiently guide you to a successful upgrade.”

I can install my own damn RAM, but it’s nice to know that if I can’t figure out how to slide my battery out, pop the cover off and slide the new RAM in, someone can talk me through it.

My RAM should show up later this week. I don’t anticipate any problems. I mean, it’s RAM. But, if there is a problem, I can exchange it. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Michael and I went to a newish restaurant for dinner tonight. We got home and the boys asked where we went, so I told them. Malachai starts crying. I had no idea he wanted to go there so badly It turned into a full on melt down and he cried for an hour. Michael brought him into our bed and I just cuddled with him. I know, I should ignore this, but when he gets like this, seriously, it’s not going to end until it’s over and he’d be a mess whether I paid attention or not. So I hauled Atos up on the bed, who proceeded to lick Mal’s face, and Mal was giggle-crying, and I cuddled up behind him and we spooned.

Times like this I wish he was still addicted to the boob, because the boob was instant-calm for him. Nothing has ever been instant-calm for him like a good cuddle and boob.

I feel just awful. I had no idea. It’s not like this place really has anything that he’d want anyway. Maybe we’ll go tomorrow night and let him see the menu.

So, Dorian was feeling ill last night, so I told him we’d see how he was in the morning. He was still feeling ill, so he did not go to school today.

Eshiva & Malachai had 9 AM appointments at the dentist. Eshiva was getting a crown, and Mal was getting a quick look-see.

Malachai was finally seen at 10:10AM and was done by 10:30ish. Remember, our appointments were for 9? Yah. Anyway, he more or less cooperated with getting a quick check out, nothing else. He has an appointment for March 5 at 8AM and he will be given a liberal dose of Benadryl (by the dentist) and wrapped up in a papoose and will have his front two teeth removed. I need to talk to our ST about this today.

At 11AM I demanded a new appointment and told them we were leaving. The receptionist assured me we were next, but she had been assuring me of that since 9AM. There was another lady who had been there since 8. My kids hadn’t eaten yet and Michael had to get to work – we left. Eshiva has a new appointment for next week. If she isn’t seen within fifteen minutes we’ll be getting yet another new appointment.

The dentist was awesome today with Malachai, and usually we only have a 15 – 20 minute wait. Two hours, and they still had no clue of when we’d be seen? Why bother making an appointment at all?

Mal got a tee for being so awesome at the dentist (seriously, I can’t even get him through the door to the back area, let alone in the chair) and I don’t know what I’m going to do on the fifth. Well, I do know. Michael is taking him. Don’t judge – I take the other two back. I just have a soft spot for Mal.

The dog pulled down our new (used) PS2. Thank goodness it still works – I refuse to buy another one. We just bought that one to replace the one he broke.

I realized last night that the reason my “TANSTAAFL” didn’t look right when we tried to do it last is that I wanted to put “GROK” in that spot. “TANSTAAFL” will have to find a home on the other wrist. Which kicks “Be Remarkable. Do The Impossible.” out, but that can go elsewhere too. I am a Heinlein whore. Absolutely.

Today has not been a great day, and I was yell-y this morning. I am feeling better now.

News All Around! Let’s start with today.

Today Michael took Atos to the vet. He has an ear infection, but we can use the meds we have for Sasha, and she only charged us for the test on his ear, not the visit itself. He is otherwise healthy and friendly. We both ran down to Lauderdale and picked up Sasha’s Interceptor (the Abandoned Pet Rescue gave us a months supply for 80$ instead of 12 pills for 80$) and she started that today. The gal in charge there said she should start to look better in a couple of weeks. Yay!

Once we were done in Lauderdale we came back up to Coral Springs and signed the boys up for camp for next year. I never did hear back from Camp Gan Israel, so we signed them up for three days a week at the place they went last summer. I am going to make plans for the other two days a week, so we should have a busy summer! I inquired about VPK for Eshiva for next year, and tomorrow morning we’re going to fill that paperwork out. KIM offers a 50$/week full day of pre-K when coupled with VPK. 7:30 – 3 (VPK runs 9 – 12, so we can drop her off after the boys and I can pick her up after the boys too). She also gets one day a week of swim instruction (not the full day of course, but the instructor comes in once a week) as well as time in the gym and daily school stuff, etc. It’s a great deal, and Olivia waived the registration fee since we’re bringing Eshiva for VPK.

Ah… we also went to Target and went food shopping. Eshiva spent some of her birthday money and got a Hello Kitty CD/Tape/Radio player. I burned her a couple of CD’s today and she is in heaven. Michael got a full sized acoustic guitar and is going to learn right along with Dorian, who has a kid sized acoustic. He got a video from NetFlix and they are going to do it on Mondays. We went to GameStop and the boys bought some games with their cash. We went back to GameStop and bought a new PS2 because the dog broke ours (total accident). Today was a money kind of day At least camp is paid in full and I don’t have to fret about it (ha, fret/guitar) and we saved a little to contribute to the fence fund.

Saturday I saw one of my Aunts & Uncles, and Gram & Zaide. They brought down some studio lights from another Uncle, so I get to tool around with those tomorrow. I need to get Michael to come outside with me and his dremel and fix up my PVC piping so I can get my backdrop stand to, you know, stand. Had a fab visit. I may bitch and moan about my family, but I really miss having more of them live locally, and I should make more effort to visit the ones that are local.

I put all my tattoo equipment in Michael’s car tonight. I haven’t had time to work with it in months. I wont have time for a while yet, and my focus is kind of on my photography at the moment anyway. I started out with the intention of learning how for the sake of knowing how, and well, I know how, so that’s that. I’m not going to go work in a competing shop, and I wont be hired to work at the shop Michael is at, so I feel like it was getting kind of pointless anyway. Maybe it just wasn’t meant to be?

Starting in August I’ll have a full day to myself. I suspect I’ll have a very clean home (I hope so anyway!). I’ll have time to repaint the front room. I’ll have time to find a place for everything. I’ll have time to set up some bad ass photo shoots and put together props to show off how cute my kids are. I’ll have time to finish my digital work during the day so I am not up doing it at midnight. I’m pretty excited about it!

So, that’s the news!

I am feeling kind of ambivalent about my youngest turning four. I do not look at pregnant ladies with longing for another baby. In fact, I am thrilled to not be making any more babies, ever. I am thrilled to be done with diapers (until my own incontinence) and baby food and strollers and slings and blunted plastic utensils.

But my baby turned four. She is right around the corner from not needing me home all day long. She is far from not needing me, I am aware of that. It’s just different with her than it was with the boys.

I know she is the last one. I enjoyed her babyhood more. I wasn’t chasing after a toddler, or missing out on toddler things because I was looking after a baby. I was not looking after someone who was sick and/or dying. I wasn’t moving (ok, we moved a few times) or packing/unpacking for months at a time (we stored the unpacked boxes).

I didn’t do anything for this birthday. We have no friends with young children (indeed, we have no friends) and she isn’t in any programs and therefore had no little friends to invite. My dads mom and sister came over. My moms parents were in Naples – we’re going to go see them next weekend. We had steak and knishes and salad and trifle and cake. We took her out to sushi the next day, because the plumber was here on her actual birthday.

I convinced her she really is four, and today convinced her that her birthday is over, but she is still four. I took some photos (which I haven’t unloaded).

And that was that.

Next year, school? Maybe, maybe not. Apparently VPK is only a 3 hour day through the public school. What a waste of time. I may keep her home. She doesn’t make the cut off for K next year.
