*grumble grumble gurgle roar*

So I have to clean. I started this morning. Really, I did. Then I got sucked into my site. Then I made lunch. Oh I cleaned between the site & lunch. I cleaned off the table, and neatened up the desk in front of the window, and swept under the table.

I need to make a package to send to my gifty exchange person-a-ma-bob. And I have to send the boys piccys to everyone under the sun. Because I’m a mom, and we did our new years cards of them. Yes, they will be closer to week-after-new-years cards. If you want one, and I don’t have your address, email it to me. If you don’t know my email addy by now, you don’t deserve a card.

I need to make some diaper liners. I have one terrycloth hour-glass shaped lined that is the perfect shape. I must trace it and make more. But I a using prefolds to make them, not terry. No need to go out and buy more fabric when I have about a hundred prefolds here already, right? Yes, we have switched to only cloth, even when we are out. Apparently, either my mom had been buying our disposables for out and night time, or I decided we need to save that money to pay rent. We don’t have a water bill, and our electric wasn’t so bad, so apparently cloth are the way for us to go to save that money. Not that I didn’t know it, but we were not paying rent or util’s at my moms house, so seeing the math actually put into use is nifty.

Albertson’s is having a massive 10 cent sale, so we will go tonight when gets home. I had sworn no more food shopping (other than fruits & veggies) till like, March (yes, we have a ton of what I call stock foods, pasta, flour, etc…) BUT I can’t pass up a 10 cent sale. So we will shop.

Ok, my mom called and I can’t remember what else I had to say.

WINTER GIFT EXCHANGE

There are people who signed up for the gift exchange who have not received gifts.

This is disappointing. Perhaps some of you have forgotten that at the end the list gets published, so we’ll all know who didn’t send out gifts as promised…

If you signed up, please reply to this to let me know whether or not you have received a gift yet.

I’ve talked to a few people and some of us are late getting out our second gift, so please be patient through this crazy holiday time. I like late surprises, anyway!

This next one has to be within the week after New Years (b/c I suspect that might be a busy week for most of us, so try to have it in the mail by the 7th).

Hello all my lovely MD-DC-VA area friends

I must pick your brains. Not eat them. Just pick at them.

Since I/we keep forgetting to mention it more than in passing, my whole brood will be up there the second week of June.

We will be leaving as soon as finishes work on the 9th (Wednesday) and I am really hoping to push through and be there by Thursday night, even if Thursday night means midnight or later. He is planning to see if he can work while we are there, but I will let him tell about those details and figure them out. I am hoping he is just looking into one day, as I have lots of touristy things I’d like to do. I am hoping we can do some of them on Friday (the 11). He’d probably be working Saturday (the 12th) and I have no clue what I’d be doing. Probably shmy around w/ my parents or something in Baltimore (unless they pick that day as a museum day, and I will go there). Sunday (the 13th) is my sisters unveiling. Not sure of the time, but it’s in Finksburg, and then a brunch at my aunt & uncles in Reisterstown. You are all invited of course. The unveiling will be about 10 minutes unless the Rabbi goes on and on. Who knows. The brunch will be a few hours. We obviously have to put in face time, especially since couldn’t make the funeral itself. (Yes, we already put in for this time off. If he hadn’t, he probably would not have gotten it!) We will be leaving sometime Monday the 14th to come back home. He has to be at work at one on Wednesday the 16th. The drive home always takes longer *shakes head*

Anyway, we need to look for a hotel. Cheap. Any suggestions? I know there is that red roof in out by , it wasn’t too terribly priced. I know of a few in Baltimore (Pikesville) but since it sounds like we will be spending a good deal of time in the DC area, I don’t want to add such a drive so often.

I might hit my aunt & uncle up, but again, they are in Pikesville.

It is (tentatively) 3 nights we’d need to sleep, I think. No, 4 if we can make it up there by Thursday night. So Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I don?t know the area that well, so I didn’t want to do a blind search for one.

i can’t believe i forgot the most important part!

our holiday dinner!!

we had a tofurkey, which was surprisingly very good, along with whatever gravy it came with, which Fish thinned slightly to suit my tastes. I am no goy, I have never had giblet gravy, and never intend to. Apparently, this gravy was made with that attempt to imitate said gravy. We also had homemade mashed potatoes, green beans almondine, Pillsbury grands flaky biscuits, drumstick shaped stuffing (not sure it was all stuffing, but it was dry, and Fish said it was like traditional stuffing), caramelized onions to go with whatever, and I think that is all.

I did not put our Yule/Channuklah bush up this year. My bad. I do, however, have the tree and decorations and I will be able to find them for next year. If we haven’t just moved again *laughs*

Sara is sleeping over tonight. Chai is now in cloth dipes everywhere we go. I ran out of disposables and I don’t care. We are going to a chicken pox party on Monday. I am thrilled. My boys are both old enough they wont get it again (if the girl is still contagious come Monday and they do in fact get it) and it means life long immunity, none of this vaccine every 6 years bullshit.

damn it, the boy woke up. bbl

25 December 2003

i am baking. Cinnamon chip-oatmeal cookies. Don’t you wish you were closer? All natural ingredients (ok, except the brown sugar, couldn’t find any organic or any healthier than what you get from any food store).

I just wish I remembered they are about as fragile as lace cookies, and HAVE to cool on the sheet you cook them on. Half of them crumbled apart before they cooled. Damn. And I still have one more batch to bake.

I hate cinnamon. But my fishie loves those cookies. So he gets them :-)

See that folks? That’s love. I can’t even stand the scent of the spice.
