Banana extinction?
LONDON (Reuters) – It is one of the world’s favorite fruits, but the banana hasn’t had sex in years and its days may be numbered. Without scientific help the sterile, seedless fruit could disappear with 10 years, according to a Belgian plant pathologist.

Emile Frison, the head of the International Network for the Improvement of Banana and Plantain in Monpellier, France, said the fruit lacks the genetic diversity to fight off diseases and pests that are plaguing banana plantations and only biotechnology and genetic manipulation may be able to save it.

“Frison sees it as the only hope for the banana,” New Scientist said on Wednesday.

Without assistance banana production could drop and mark the beginning of the end of the fruit.

“We may even see the extinction of the banana as both a lifesaver for hungry and impoverished Africans and as the most popular product on the world’s supermarket shelves,” the magazine added.

erin’s right foot os all swollen. but it’s not edema, b/c it is not pitting. someone is coming in to look at it. apparently when it is touched, she makes a hell of a lot of noise and moves around. which is odd, b/c when she hurts, he usually just flinches and looks at you like your insane. so something is WRONG. so someone is going to look at it.

you know… sometimes you just gotta stop. and think. maybe about nothing at all, but i think you will find that if you do stop. and think, you will find lots going on, you didn’t even know was there.

a flower has more parts, and more intricacies to it that you would ever know how to label, dissect, inspect, or appreciate.

so do people.

i hate some flowers. what about that stick flower? the one that blooms, like, ever 100 years? and smells of rotting corpse? people flock from ALL OVER to see it and smell it.

i know some people like that *laughs*

ah………. too much going on in my head, i feel like it’s spinning round and round and round…… can’t pick just one thought! oh, no, that isn’t allowed. a hundred of them, racing round, chasing each other, mixing, meshing, joining

a thousand more sparking and igniting, leaping to the front, jumping up and down, trying to be noticed

a slow insanity, but an enjoyable one.

what was i saying? oh, you gotta stop. and think. because if you don’t, it might eat you up, from the inside out.

someone very important to me wrote that… and i can honestly say (and i hope she isn’t offended or upset) that the only reason she is very important to me is because she is, i belive, the key to happiness for someone else who, tho our lives are very far from the paths they were 5-7 years ago, and a lot of shit and bullshit, and every other kind of shit, has gone down between us, i still feel is very important to me. he helped me form a lot of the ideals, thoughts and concepts i still carry dear to my heart today. and his happiness is important to me, even if mine isn’t to him. i digress.

i never thought she was important to me, but for some reason, that line sparked me to realize it.

i just thought i would share.

and thank you for those words.
