Hi, I’m Jenn. I’m a mom, sister, daughter, wife, artist, house frau, this list really just goes on and on. I am just another SoFl transplant, originally from Baltimore.
I love to do a million things – everything from traditional fiber crafts to digital arts. I have pretty bad nerve damage in both hands, wrists and elbows so I don’t get to do stuff all that often. One baby bootie broke me for almost a month. I also freelance web and graphic design (since 1994, do I qualify as old skool?) in between managing a household and trying to save the world. A little conservation goes a long way.
I have big ears and big tattoos. I recycle, compost, cloth diapered, breastfed, cook from scratch, yadda yadda yadda and I listen to punk and oi (and classical and ska and folk…) I am usually in a teeshirt and jeans and I”ll wear heels with anything. I have the unfortunate problem of being short.
My husband is a tattoo artist and sometimes-piercer. He self-describes as a husband, dad, tattoo artist, piercer, traditional skin, artist, minister, author, collector, amateur movie critic, and all around Grumpy Old Man. He has also worn many other hats over the years including USN Hospital Corpsman, DJ, Security Tech, Psych Tech, and DC Freak.
I believe in self discovery; unassisted pregnancy & childbirth; extended breastfeeding; family bedding; the Mobius continuum; acting in your own self interest but thinking about it first; truth (like telling your best friend that it isn’t her pants that make her ass look big, it’s her ass that makes her ass look big.); diplomacy under pressure, but being blunt works too; stars; faeries; other mythology-as-fact creatures and beings I can’t always see; love conquering all; money showing up when you need it most, even if you think you need it most some other time; friends being friends no matter what the distance; family because it will always be there for you, even when you think it wont; and true angels on mama earth, because I’ve known some.
