Holidays

I hope everyone had a great new year. We had Rosh Hashana dinner with my gram, zaide, great aunt & uncle, some of their friends, and us. It was nice. Gram made everything, which was a big deal for her this year, and it was fantastic. I didn’t nitice it at the time, but writing it out now I am, it reminded me so much of our holidays when I was a child, and I am really quite sad that it was probably the last one like that I will have. My mom died right before Rosh Hashana last year… in fact her shiva was cut short because the holidays are more important.

Today is Yom Kippor. I lit the yarzeit candles last night for Mom, Erin and Pe-Pa (my dads father) because my father wasn’t home at sun-down to do it. This is the first year in a long time I am fasting, as it is the first year in a long time someone else isn’t depending on me for their food. I am quite hungry, but it’s my own fault. I didn’t eat well yesterday.

My dad took the kids and my MIL (who is visiting) out today, so I am home with my three. I washed my phone this morning. I know I’ve been wanting a new one, but we can’t afford one right now and I’ll be damned before I pay for a new one through the insurance. I hope it dries out. It’s a real POS but I need a phone.

We went to Disney this past weekend. Here’s some photos and also a few choice ones:
