I’ve been pretty blah on blogging for a while now.

So this whole Hammas thing is crazy. Yes, I know, I am not the best Jew in the world, but I am really torn over everything Israel has gone through and will go through. I went in 1997 or 98 for a couple of weeks for my cousins Bar Mitzvah, and I was blown away. Even with the soldiers walking around fully armed, life went on as normal. In Israel, there is a two year compulsory enlistment in their military. As much as I hate the need for armed forces, it makes me wonder if that is the way to go. For a country smaller than Texas, they certainly continue to hold their own. My mother was there during the 77 war I think it was, her kibbutz was on the Gaza Strip. She decided to stay past her plans to help the kibbutz. I’d like to go back someday, and I know they will surviv for me to do so.

Michael and I were talking about the Chabad last night, and how happy they are with themselves, how excited even. As he said, it almost makes him want to run out, grow a beard and find religion. They are a happy bunch. I get my parshah in my inbox, I read the articles, and everything relates to itself. Last week we were reading about Mitzrayim, which is the Hebrew word not only for Egypt but for hardship. That is what led into our discussion last night. Anyway, I might expound on it later, I’m suddenly not in a Jewish writing mood.

Mom is ok, I guess. She has this awful, barking cought that uupsets everyone in the house. She starts gasping for air and making this terrible noise. She says it is just a cough though. She has a bald patch on one side. I need to finish this hat. My hands hurt so badly though, it’s hard for me to knit long at one time. I’m ready to move just to be done with it, but I’d feel terribly guilty in the end.

The washer is busted, it’s leaking. Someone is supposed to come out on Tuesday. We need the dryer looked at too.

Meeting up with Becky at the zoo tomorrow. Should be fun. We made it for Monday so Fish could come too.

I joined a new HS group, and we might be starting a Spiral Scouts group. I am super super excited about that. It means stuff for the boys to do as well as the twins if there is enough interest in their age group.

PM‘s has had over 100 new members since the beginning of February. Must be a good sign. We’ve been really active, lots of great new members. I’m really happy about that. We also have a new link directory if you want to add yourself to it. Through February 24 I am offering free upgrade to a “featured” listing. After that, just use the contact us button to email me and let me know you’ve linked back t us and I’ll upgrade you then too. If you don’t want to link back to us but want a featured for life listing, it is $2.00 via paypal, and that is built into the script, so just click on make featured after you add your link. We’ll have a recipe section coming soon, as well as more contests & prizes, new merch, pins, magnets, all sorts of fun stuff. I’m really happy with how we’re growing.

Dorian wants to learn to knit. I think I’m going to get him a knifty knitter, because he was having trouble with the needles. Jana is doing a kids knitting class, starting tomorrow. I had to bag on it b/c of the zoo (didn’t realize B would be in town this week!) so we’ll start next week. I was really excited about it too, but I am more excited about m eeting B!
