As always, just when we think we are finally getting ahead, something happens.
I have had a fantastic couple of weeks that would culminate in a matching paycheck on Friday. So when I get home to pick up the family, it struck. I put the car in park so we could put the kids in and it started going backwards. Apparently something broke in between our transmission shifter in the passenger compartment and the actual transmission so the car is stuck in reverse. No shifting whatsoever. Major suckage.
So we need to get up butt early to call the dealership and find out if it is still under warrantee (prolly not) and see about getting the car towed to either the dealership or our friend who is a mechanic (or his recommended place of repair) and there goes that check. The downside is that it is only Tuesday night and I don’t get paid until Friday. This could be an issue…
So yah. Now it sucked before no one was buying my auctions or PJS stuff. Now it REALLY sucks.

This will either be a couple of hundred dollars nothing (that being literally the connection from the gear shift to the tranny) or a 1400 dollar job, that being a whole new tranny.
I am sick and fucking tired of putting new trannys in cars. The last one I did that to I got rid of two weeks later and bought the Mazda. I *like* my Mazda. My dad’s Mazda we had for 11 years, and the fucker is *still* running. We sold it, but the guy who bought it is still driving it.
At least it isn’t a stick. Good thing I was too cheap to buy one. It would have been like, 1200 dollars more b/c they didn’t have any in and would have had to order it.
And here I thought we could put money away. Silly me.
