101 in 1001

This is my first 101 in 1001 period; I attempted to make a list a few times over the last year or so, but failed. In ever could reach 101 things without feeling like I was cheating in some way. I have a couple of friends who made (new) lists this year, so thanks to both of you for lighting a fire under my ass and giving me a starting point.

The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (i.e. – no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (i.e. – represent some amount of work on your part).

Start date: 1st January 2010
End date: 28th February 2013

Strikethrough means I have completed that goal.
Italics mean that goal is in progress.

My List

  1. Make the list.
  2. Health/Exercise

  3. Stop biting my nails (again).
  4. Use the WiiFit at least twice a week.
  5. Get down to around 125/135 pounds
  6. Try to do it just five pounds at a time. No unreachable goals for me.
  7. eat 100% raw at least one meal a day
  8. stop eating solids after 8PM
  9. drink more water, less of everything else
  10. eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at a reasonable time and a reasonable amount. No more skipping or eating fourthmeal at 10PM or later!
  11. eat more natural food, not processed
  12. bike at least 3 miles daily M – F
  13. take care of my dental
  14. get cleanings every 3 months
  15. Finance/Work

  16. Pay off my credit cards (yes, again). Pay off plan takes us through 2012, but the bulk is done by 2011. see below.
  17. BoA Visa – paid off by May 2010
  18. Target – paid off by May 2010
  19. Cap1 – paid off by Sept 2010
  20. Citi – paid off by Mar 2011
  21. Juniper – paid off by July 2011
  22. AmEx – paid off by Jan 2012

  24. HFC – paid off by Mar 1012
  25. PAY BY CASH ONLY!!!
  26. Put 50$ per pay check into the savings.
  27. Stop getting take away food/limit it to once a month
  28. Education

  29. Really dig into some of those photography how-to sites.
  30. Start tattooing again
  31. Family

  32. Take photos of all kids at least weekly.
  33. Re-enroll Shiva in dance class (2010)
  34. Get Malachai all services needed on IEP(ongoing)
  35. Look into extra curric for Dorian music lessons!
  36. Find some extra curric for Malachai
  37. Play outside at least four times a week with all kids
  38. Do a craft every day during summer 10
  39. Get to Disney for Eshiva’s birthday in Feb 10
  40. Go to the beach on the first Sunday of every month, weather permitting
  41. Picnic Sundays in between
  42. go camping
  43. buy and install closet system fro IKEA for all clothes & toys
  44. take the kids to some movies
  45. make s’mores
  46. make popcorn balls
  47. make rice crispies treats
  48. open a savings account for Dorian
  49. open a savings account for Malachai
  50. open a savings account for Eshiva
  51. deposit 75$/mo in to it (25$ each) it’s 20$ each – still not bad!
  52. Call & Email the extended fam more
  53. spend more time with the people I love
  54. try to make the people I care about smile every day
  55. Home

  56. Declutter the kitchen.
  57. Declutter the living room.
  58. Sell/give away shoes and clothes that I don’t wear.
  59. Clear out the garage.
  60. Paint the front room.
  61. Paint the living room.
  62. Paint the kitchen.
  63. New cabinets in the kitchen – at least new fronts.
  64. Finish the flooring in the upstairs hall
  65. and master bedroom
  66. and stairs
  67. Maintain weekly meal plans.
  68. Keep the house clean & tidy
  69. Sweep daily
  70. mop every other day/every third day
  71. keep the bathroom clean
  72. make sure clothes get placed in the hamper
  73. and washed as soon as it’s full
  74. serve two veggie or vegan dinner meals per week
  75. Art

  76. Use the sewing machine now that it has a home and is set up.
  77. Take a photography walk at least once monthly.
  78. Draw one 8×10 picture every month (flash or whatever)
  79. try to blog daily about what is going on. My blog is more like a diary than a “blog” blog, so this is reasonable.
  80. Reading & Watching

  81. Read one book I’ve never read before each month (to get out of the rut I am in of re-reading everything over and over and over)
  82. try and keep track of them on goodreads.com – they need an app!
  83. Personal

  84. Don’t compare my life to others. I have no idea what their journey is all about.
  85. Don’t over do. Know and keep my limits.
  86. Don’t take myself too seriously.
  87. Dream more while I’m awake
  88. No one is in charge of my happiness except me.
  89. control my anger
  90. What other people think of me is none of my business.
  91. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
  92. No matter how I feel, get up, get dressed, and do my day.

  99. Have people over at least once a month

  101. get good dirt from compost bin and plant a small veggie garden
  102. continue to compost
  103. don’t be so weird about the phone – use it more!
  104. At the end of the 1001 days, make another list of 101.
